Albion Falls, Hamilton

Beautiful cascade waterfall over the Niagara Escarpment

Photographic Potential:  ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

Natural History Diversity: ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Landscape Features: 19m cascade-style waterfall with good flow most of the year; viewpoints & vistas of rocky gorge, high cliffs

Flora & Fauna:  Nothing remarkable as this area is well-worn from use

Location: On Mountain Brow, 1km south of Limeridge or 1km from Mud St./Pritchard Rd. exit from Lincoln Alexander Pkwy

Facilities: Parking Lot (no charge), viewpoint from top

Access: Along a Bruce Trail side trail: narrow, rugged and/or rocky trail with steep sections - exercise extreme caution

Winter Access: Unknown: it's a short walk from parking, although parking lot may not be cleared of snow

Notes: Although the 19m waterfall is a beautiful cascade, the rest of the area is a bit trashy with scrubby plants recovering from being broken off and much litter in the area; the water itself is a bit suspect as it is rather unclean-looking and sudsy with lots of algae. This area is also over-run with people; at peak times it is a bit of a circus.

Hazards & Precautions: Rugged rocky trail with many loose rocks, rocks slippery when wet, waterfalls, cliff edges, steep climb(s), poison ivy
